Been There offers free, confidential Peer support for people struggling with body image concerns and eating disorders. Through our secure app, you can connect with someone who truly understands - because they’ve been there too.

At Been There, we believe nobody should have to struggle with body image concerns or eating disorders alone.
Too many people feel isolated, misunderstood, or unsure where to turn. Long waiting lists, fear of judgement, and a lack of relatable support can leave people suffering in silence. We’re here to help change that.
Our mission is to make safe, compassionate Peer support accessible to anyone who needs it, connecting people with someone who truly understands because they’ve been there too.
Through lived experience, empathy and meaningful connection, we aim to reduce shame, build hope, and remind people that healing does not have to happen alone.
No judgement. No pressure. Just someone who understands, walking alongside you.
Everything we do at Been There is guided by compassion, trust and connection.
We believe lived experience can change lives when shared safely and responsibly. That is why we create spaces where people feel heard, understood and supported, without fear of judgement.
We value empathy over assumptions, kindness over criticism, and honest connection over perfection. We know every healing journey looks different, so we meet people where they are, at their pace.
Above all, we believe that nobody should feel ashamed, alone or afraid to ask for support. By turning lived experience into hope, we help people feel seen, understood and reminded that recovery is possible.

It sits alongside it, offering connection and support when it’s needed most.
