OUR PEER MENTORING SERVICE

If you're finding things hard right now, whether that's how you feel about food, your body, or yourself, you don't have to go through this alone.

We know how isolating this can feel, but you’ve taken the first step even landing on this page.

Been There will connect you with a trained mentor, someone who has been through similar themselves, who understands what your going through, and will support you throughout your journey.

How Peer Mentoring Works

1. Get Matched with the Right Peer Mentor

Once your application has been approved, we'll match you with a trained Peer Mentor - someone who has lived experience and understands what you're going through.

2. Connect Weekly for 12 Weeks

You'll stay in touch with your Peer Mentor through secure text-based chat over 12 weeks. Conversations take place at times that work for both of you, and our safeguarding team is available if additional support is needed.

3. We're With You Every Step of the Way

At the beginning, halfway point, and end of your journey, we'll ask a few short questions to help us understand your experience and make sure you're getting the support you need.

How Been There Can Help

Create a safe space for you to be honest.

No judgement, no pressure.

Your Mentor has lived experience of their own.

They will understand, without you having to explain.

We won't push you.

But we will walk alongside you as you find your own way.

Everything we do is informed by clinicians and lived experience experts, so the support you receive is grounded in what helps.

Whatever comes up, there's a team behind the scenes making sure you're safe and getting the right support.
